The Best James Humes Interview Available: On Eisenhower and Churchill.
HANG ON. Dean Larry introduces Jamie in a very wooden "public access channel" style but once Jamie gets rolling in his Churchill Suit, this video gets fun fast.
In this installment of the Massachusetts School of Law’s “Books of Our Time” Dean Lawrence R. Velvel interviews author James Humes. Humes, a former White House staffer during Eisenhower’s administration, has written a lively and engaging portrait of the relationship between Eisenhower and Churchill during the Second World War. Churchill was a professional politician and an amateur strategist while Eisenhower was a professional strategist and a professional politician. Humes explores Eisenhower’s tremendous ability to work with different personalities, forge common ground and get the job done. Churchill, who initially viewed Eisenhower as under qualified, came to posses an extraordinary faith in the General. The work tracks the genesis of their relationship from Operation Torch in North Africa, to Sicily and Italy and to D-Day and the Northern European land campaign of 1944-45.

This a classroom version of Dr. James C. Humes' classic one-man show on Winston Churchill.
As a Churchill biographer and friend of the Churchill family, Dr. James C. Humes gave this presentation to UCCS students and professors. In this presentation, Humes brings to audiences the wit, personality and bulldog determination of the twentieth century's greatest leader, Winston Churchill.
This video is woefully "webcast" in quality but still enjoyable. He is awesome in person!

James Humes- Confessions of a White House Ghost Writer
The Center for the Study of Government and the Individual hosted James Humes during a "Conversations with the Center" evening program, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
James Humes has written or "ghosted" for five U.S. presidents. In this talk, he reveals the secrets of White House speechwriting, whether it was for an Inaugural Address, a toast to the Queen or a plaque to be left on the moon by the Apollo astronauts.
Humes, a born mimic, recreates each of the presidents in his warm and funny reminiscences. He imparts anecdotes about personal encounters with every president from Franklin Roosevelt to George H. W. Bush.
In a talk that will make listeners both laugh and cry, Humes sketches the personalities of the presidents (and their First Ladies) in an anecdotal style that makes history come alive.FROM THE CSGI OF UCCS WEBSITE: CLICK TO VISIT!

James Humes delivers quotes by Churchill, General Patton, Roosevelt and Kennedy
Howard Phillips ( known here at the JCH blog as the Pompous Interrupter) hosts our hero, Dr. James Humes, Professor at the University of Southern Colorado. Humes has published many books on the art of public speaking, and has been writing for Republican presidents since Eisenhower. He and Phillips discuss history's most articulate leaders, starting with Winston Churchill. Humes delivers quotes by Churchill, General Patton, Roosevelt and JFK on this show and discusses his books and other books for those interested in public speaking and rhetoric. One of his books is "Churchill's Secret, How Conservatives Can Craft Winning Lines", which can help you to speak like Churchill.
